April 9, 2010 Handicapped Parking--Whole New World

This is a shot of the handicapped parking place in front of our local Barnes and Noble where I can hobble up the ramp with my walker and my broken leg. It also happens to be right in front of the coffee shop. Gus and I have been in a couple of times and it is so nice to have a ramp to use. I never knew how important handicapped parking is to those who need it. I have noticed that there are some places that have them but don't have a ramp that is easy to use or that other parking places block. It's amazing what you notice when YOU are the one who needs the accommodations.

  1. I have a friend who is in a motorized wheelchair, Laurie. Her pet peeve are the people who think that handicapped parking places are for cart returns.
I enjoy your photos. They're great.

  2. Yes, it is amazing how much you noticed about the handicapped world when you are the one who require additional assistance.
More people attention need to be brought to this in order to effectively accommodate those who require more assistance. Keep smiling!!! It will get better. ;)
